Is April a good time to visit West and South Sikkim?
April is rhododendron month. Barsey and the forests below Dzongri are in bloom, Goecha La treks are in full swing, and Temi's first flush is on the bushes. Views come and go with the haze, so early starts matter. It is a lovely month for walking. Days are mild enough for long walks at Yuksom and Rinchenpong, and evenings still need a fleece. Hotels fill from the middle of the month.
