Is April a good time to visit Darjeeling Hills?
April is rhododendron month on the Singalila Ridge, and the forests around Lepchajagat and Chatakpur are full of birdsong. Darjeeling is mild with afternoon showers. First-flush tea is at its peak. Views are hazier than in autumn but still come through on many early mornings. Crowds build towards the end of the month as school holidays begin.
