Is May a good time to visit Darjeeling Hills?
May is peak season. Families from the plains fill Darjeeling, Mirik and Kurseong to escape the heat, and the Mall is busy every evening. It is pleasant but crowded and pricier. Saga Dawa often begins late in the month. In Mungpoo, Tagore's birth anniversary in early May brings songs to Rabindra Bhavan. Mountain views are patchy.
