Is March a good time to visit Gangtok and East Sikkim?
March is one of our favourite months. The high roads usually reopen, rhododendrons start to flower at lower altitudes, and Gangtok is mild. Tsomgo may still have ice at the edges. The Silk Route is quiet and homestays have rooms. Haze can soften the mountain views later in the month, so go for the early mornings.
What is the weather like in Gangtok and East Sikkim in March?
Gangtok 9–19 °C, dry, haze builds late. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
