Is December a good time to visit Gangtok and East Sikkim?
December is clear and cold, with crisp mountain views most mornings. The Kagyed dances at Tsuklakhang and Losoong, the Bhutia harvest new year, bring Gangtok's festival season. Snow can close Nathu La and the high Silk Route road for days, so keep backups. Rates are good until the Christmas and New Year week.
