A luxury lodge on a forested ridge above the Paro valley, with rooms and private villas, a spa known for its holistic treatments and Bhutanese and international cooking. A quiet base for the Tiger's Nest and the end of a trip.

COMO Uma Paro stands in pine forest on a ridge above Paro town, looking across the valley. It has rooms in the main lodge and private villas, finished in pale wood and Bhutanese textiles. The setting is quiet: you hear wind in the pines and see the lights of Paro below at night. The airport is about 15 minutes away, and the Tiger's Nest trailhead about 20–30 minutes.

The lodge is known for its spa, which offers massage, yoga and hot stone baths, and for its kitchen, which serves Bhutanese dishes alongside lighter international food. Guides can arrange hikes, archery and farmhouse visits. It is one of the best places in Bhutan to rest after the Tiger's Nest hike or before an early flight. COMO also runs a sister lodge in Punakha, so couples often combine the two.

Why we like it

  • Ridge-top setting above the Paro valley
  • Spa with hot stone baths and yoga
  • Close to the airport and Tiger's Nest

Watch out for

Prices are high and the SDF is extra; the lodge is a drive from Paro town, so you rely on the hotel or your car.

Questions people ask

Good to know

How far is COMO Uma Paro from Paro airport

About 15 minutes by car. The lodge sits on a forested ridge above Paro town, which also puts the Tiger's Nest trailhead about 20–30 minutes away. It is a convenient last night before a morning flight out of Paro.

Is COMO Uma Paro worth it for a honeymoon

For couples with the budget, yes: quiet ridge-top villas, a respected spa and good food. Rates are roughly ₹45,000–80,000 per room night, indicative 2026, with the SDF extra at ₹1,200 per person per night for Indians or US$100 for other nationalities. Check current status before you travel.

Does COMO Uma Paro offer a hot stone bath

Yes. The spa offers the Bhutanese hot stone bath. Book in advance so the stones can be heated. It is a more polished version of the farmhouse bath, at a higher price, and pairs well with the Tiger's Nest day.
