Is October a good time to visit West and South Sikkim?
October is the classic month: clear skies, crisp mornings and Kangchenjunga on show almost daily. Goecha La treks run at their peak. It is also the Durga Puja and Diwali season, so Pelling, Yuksom and Ravangla are at their busiest. Sunrise from Upper Pelling is close to guaranteed in the second half of the month. Book early for Goecha La; agencies fill their departures well in advance.
