Walk across Singshore Bridge

Singshore Bridge spans a deep gorge between the Dentam and Uttarey sides of the valley. Wikipedia gives it a length of about 240 m and a height of about 100 m, and calls it the highest bridge in Sikkim. It was built in the early 2000s to save villagers a long detour down to the river and back up. Today it is also a favourite stop for travellers heading to Uttarey from Pelling.
Ask your driver to park at one end, then walk across and back. On a clear day you look down to the river far below and out over forested slopes with waterfalls after rain. The bridge carries vehicles, so stay to the side and watch for jeeps. It can sway a little in the wind, which children love and some adults do not. Hold small children's hands, and do not lean over the railings for selfies.
Morning light is best for photos, and the bridge is quietest before about 10 am. There is usually no fee, though a small charge or parking fee may be collected in season, so keep change handy. Snack stalls may be open at busy times, but do not count on it. If heights bother you, the view from the end is almost as good as from the middle. Allow 30–45 minutes in all, including photos.
