A riverside dhaba stop on NH10

Teesta Bazaar lives on its highway traffic, and a row of small dhabas and tea stalls along NH10 feeds the jeeps, trucks and tourist cars that stop here. Menus are simple: milk tea, momos, chowmein, thukpa, rice with dal, vegetables and chicken or egg curry. A full meal costs about ₹100–250 per person, indicative for 2026, much less than a hill-station restaurant.
Timing matters. Coming up from Siliguri, this is a sensible place for a late breakfast before the climb to Kalimpong or Darjeeling. Coming down, it is the first flat stop after an hour of bends, and a good place to stretch legs before the run to Sevoke and the plains. Most drivers have a favourite place; it usually means the food is fresh and the toilets are clean enough.
Eat light if you are prone to motion sickness and still have the climb ahead. Carry small notes, as change can be short, though UPI works in many places when the network is up. During the monsoon and after landslides, traffic may back up for hours; a dhaba stop then becomes a long wait, so keep water and snacks in the car.

Good to know
Where should we stop to eat between Siliguri and Kalimpong
Teesta Bazaar is the usual stop, roughly two thirds of the way from Siliguri to Kalimpong. Its dhabas serve tea, momos and rice meals for about ₹100–250 per person, indicative for 2026. Sevoke, closer to Siliguri, is the other common break. Ask your driver for his regular place.
Are there clean toilets at Teesta Bazaar
Toilets are available at most dhabas and some petrol pumps, but standards vary. Drivers usually know which ones are kept clean. Carry tissues and hand sanitiser. There are few other good options on the climb to Kalimpong, so use the stop here.
Is Teesta Bazaar on the way to Gangtok
Teesta Bazaar is on NH10, the Siliguri–Gangtok highway, though the main Gangtok traffic passes along the river through Teesta Bazaar and on to Melli and Rangpo. Cars from Kalimpong to Gangtok come down to Teesta Bazaar and join NH10 here. It is a natural tea stop on either trip.
