The family serves simple meals from their farm and organises walks to hot springs, waterfalls, a lake, the local monastery and viewpoints with local guides, as well as cooking sessions and talks on Lepcha customs. It is almost three hours by road from Gangtok. As with every Dzongu stay, send your ID copies early so the permit can be arranged.

How do I reach Lingthem in Dzongu
Travel from Gangtok to Mangan by shared jeep or car, cross into Dzongu by the Sanklang bridge and continue to Lingthem, almost three hours from Gangtok in total. The homestay can arrange pickup from Mangan. You need a Dzongu permit, usually arranged with the hosts' help.
Can I see Kanchenjunga from Lingthem
Yes, on clear days. Lingthem is known for one of the best views of Kanchenjunga in Dzongu, especially on winter mornings between October and March. In the monsoon the mountains are usually hidden in cloud. Ask your hosts for the best viewpoint near the house.
